Contents page analysis

The contents is divided by contents stories, fashion and special features, over a two page spread. This means there is a great deal of space for the compostion. The text is neatly set into paragrapghs, and there is still room for eye-catching pictures.

On the first page the first thing that catches the readers attention is the title; "Vogue", in big, bold lettering.
The 2nd thing that catches the readers eye is the large picture of a fashion model. This picture immediately gives the reader an idea of what to expect if they carry on reading. The model is young, skinny and outgoing. Women who aspire to be like this may carry on reading to find out her 'secrets' of beauty.

The colour scheme, red & black, is very sophisticated and simple, yet eye catching. The bright red, bold font, stands out against the white background, making it easy for the eye to be drawn to the important parts.

On the 2nd page, there are two images.

One of a girl underwater, in a wet suit. This image is rather unusual, and is probably not what the reader was expecting to see. This will trigger questions in the readers mind, making them want to read on to find out more.

The second image is a picture of Emma Watson; known for her amazing acting, and elegant beauty. She is a role model to many women and young girls, therefore this picture will attract anyone who looks up to her.
